Frequently Asked Questions

How long will you be with us on the day?

We usually arrive 2.5 hours before the ceremony, but this can vary slightly depending on logistics. When we speak just before the big day, we’ll always give you an ETA. We then stay with you until 30 minutes after the first dance so we get some cracking dancing shots! After this, it’s time to leave you and your guests in peace with no cameras catching their every move!

What is your style?

Our style, as you may have guessed from the homepage or some of our photos, is to capture the day with as little posing as possible. Obviously there will be the odd bit of direction here and there (no one wants an awkward photo just because it’s natural) during the group shots and couple portraits. But we keep this to a minimum and focus on making you guys feel calm and having fun, rather than thinking where your hand should be or where to point your head. We know what looks good and we’ll be there to give you pointers if need-be. Other than that, we act like a fly on the wall, trying to be as unobtrusive as possible and blending in with your guests.

Why should we book you?

SO. MANY. REASONS. No seriously, there are a whole world of fantastic photographers out there. And if we’re not quite right for you, we’ll happily point you in their direction. You need to be completely happy about who you’re having with you for 10 hours on your special day. They need to be good people, and know what they’re doing. I would say the biggest compliment we get is it feels like we become friends with our couples on the day. And that literally is the case for a number of our couples who we have become close with since their wedding. We get on so well with everyone that it doesn’t feel like you’re with a complete stranger on the day. And this is such an underrated aspect of hiring a photographer. We are with you all day, so you don’t want someone you don’t like! We are all about making your day the best it can be, so we’ll be more than your photographers, we’ll sew dresses, give out mints on demand, cut labels, carry chairs, whatever is needed! All this whilst taking incredible photos of your day.

Do you require a deposit?

To book your day, we require a £400 non-refundable booking fee to secure the date. We have many enquiries that fall on the same day, so with the booking fee paid, you can rest assured no-one is taking your date away from you.

How many photographers will there be?

Two! It’s always two with us. We’ve worked with many solo photographers before, and although they work bloody hard to get all the shots, we’ve seen a fair few missing some key moments. We don’t want to take this risk. So with two of us, we can always have one person with you and the other with guests, or getting drone shots, or helping sort out your dress, or gathering guests for group shots… For us, it just works so much more smoothly and makes for a much calmer day!

When will we receive our photos?

Your photos will be delivered in a beautiful online gallery usually within 6-8 weeks after the wedding. This is about an industry standard. Some take 4 weeks, some take 12, so we happily sit in the middle. Why does it take so long I hear you ask? Well, with around 5000 photos to look through after the wedding, backing them up twice, going through them three times to pick out the best ones, crop and edit, then do a final check, it’s a lot more time consuming than you might expect. We are aware you won’t want to wait too long, so we’ll do this as quickly as we can without rushing them through. You will of course get your sneak peak photos within 3 days of the wedding! (exciting!).

Do we provide a list of photos we would like?

It never hurts to have an idea in mind of what you’d like, which you can happily share with us. But giving a photographer a specific list of photos means they will be thinking about the list more than what’s actually happening on the day. We work best if we can capture things naturally and as they happen. We will, of course, get all the ‘main’ shots such as first kiss, confetti, cake cutting, first dance etc. So we’d love to hear what kind of photos you love, but you can trust in us as professionals to get your day captured as naturally as possible.

How many group shots can we have?

Obviously it is your wedding day, you can have as many group shots as you like! What we find though is if you have any more than 10, the reception is completely taken over by photos and that is not our style at all. We love for you to have the important group shots that will definitely go on Nan’s mantlepiece, but you should also be able to spend time with your guests during this time. We therefore set a limit of 10 group shots as it can take 5 minutes per group. Plus it means we get more time to photograph you and your guests in a more candid way.

What if we need to cancel?

Hopefully this is something you won’t have to think about. But it is something to bear in mind. We have a cancellation policy in place and can be viewed in the contract when it comes to booking your day.

Do we have to pay in full?

Nope! If you’d like to spread out your payments, that’s fine by us. Let us know how much you can pay each month and we’ll get it all set up for you.

Are you insured?

Yes, we have public liability and indemnity insurance up to £5,000,000. Matt also has his drone license and insurance for that, too.

Do we have to provide a meal for you?

It is an industry standard to feed your wedding suppliers who are with you for much of the day. Whilst we don’t say you HAVE to do anything, we would really really really appreciate a warm meal on such a long, exhausting day. All venues will have a supplier meal option, so it’s a good idea to speak with them about this. Plus, the wedding breakfast is the only time we’ll sit down and have a few minutes to chill in the entire day, and even then Angie runs into the breakfast room every few minutes if she hears something happening! TIA!

What happens if you are ill?

Fortunately for us *touches wood*, we’ve never been ill on a wedding day yet. However, in that unlikely scenario that one or both of us is ill, we have many fantastic photographers we can call upon to help. We have a great network of supportive photographers in the area who we help on occasion and vice-versa, so rest assured, you’ll always have a professional photographer to capture your day.
